American Legion Post 3 War Museum

The American Legion Post 3 War Museum has been in operation since 1933. It contains a large collection of war fighting equipment, uniforms, and artifacts, organized by each major conflict.  There is also a library of books and papers available for checkout by post members.

Our Facebook page has a gallery of photographs of some of the museum contents.

It is located at our post address in downtown Greenville.  It is open and free to the public every Saturday and Sunday, and by appointment.  Check our Facebook page for operating hours.  Donations of your personal military artifacts, or money, which will be used to enhance and maintain the museum, are gratefully accepted.

If you are a Post 3 Legionnaire, consider taking a weekend shift as a Museum Guide.  It is easy and fun - you already have the experience, skill, and knowledge to be a good museum guide!. You will learn more about history and share your knowledge with some extraordinary people from around the community, nation, and the planet (really!). Museum Guide shifts are : Saturday 10AM to 1 PM, 1PM to 4 PM, Sunday 1PM to 4 PM.

  The sign-up is simple:

1 - Look at the recent email blast to you or the event Calendar on the website and select an open shift.

2 - Contact our Museum Director by phone, text or email to sign up.
