Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update:
June 26, 2020 - Reopening of Post 3:
American Legion Post 3 will reopen Saturday 27 June for meetings. We will also have a grand reopening of our updated museum at 11 AM that day. All current protocols for virus safety will be followed. Our Adjutant and the Executive Committee have worked tirelessly to prepare your Post for safely reopening. Here is the Adjutant's message about the reopening:
Good evening Legionaries,
Saturday coming is our scheduled June meeting. We look forward to having members
back in the post. We will serve breakfast at 9 am, have our general meeting at 10 am and
reopen the museum at 11 am.
At the general meeting we will be presenting candidates for office for the 2020 – 2021 year.
The vote will be held during our July 18th meeting.
We will reopen the museum at 11 am with a short ceremony. There are many changes in
the museum and we feel you will like them.
If you are not registered to vote we have registration information and applications at the post.
You served for the right to vote and hope you will take advantage of every voting opportunity
Member’s health is important to us. We will be practicing social distancing Saturday. Temperatures
will be checked at the door and masks will be provided for anyone desiring one. We ask that you
not shake hands but greet cordially with a nod or another appropriate gesture. We also ask that
if you have a fever, are feeling sick or have had fever in the last 14 days that you not attend the
meeting and let us know if there is anything we can do for you. If you have a temperature we will

March 17, 2020 – Coronavirus Update:
From Your Commander, American Legion Post 3, Greenville, SC:
I have decided to cancel all Post 3 events, and close the Museum, to reduce and delay the spread of the Coronavirus, effective immediately. This direction applies to all members of the American Legion Post 3 family. Events will resume once it is deemed safe for you and the community.
Your Post will continue to publish our monthly newsletter, so that all members, especially those without digital access, can keep up with this evolving situation regarding your Post. We will also provide regular updates via email, on our website and Facebook pages.
Your Post will continue to reach out regularly to our homebound and ill members. If you need to contact us, our main phone line and email address are monitored. A response team is in place to assist where we can.

Legionnaires, as veterans, you have the Leadership, Discipline and Volunteer Spirit to help our community to Adapt, Improvise, and Overcome. The community will look to you for strength, confidence, and positive action. And do your best to stay safe, and keep others safe.
Follow the advice of your health experts. Stay in touch with your family and friends. Keep informed, as this situation will continue to evolve. And this shall also pass.
